II.1.2 The Peerage Continuity and Officer's Incapacity Act of 7533 (VIII ACG 1), Article 16, as amended 7535

Article Sixteen. Incapacity of the Regent. Section One. Whenever the Regent transmits to the Lord President his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Lord President shall immediately notify the Lord Great Steward, and until the Regent transmit to the Lord President a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Lord Great Steward as Deputy Regent.

Section Two. Whenever the Regent dies during his term of office, or the Regent's term of office expires, or the Lord Great Steward determines that the Regent is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Lord Great Steward shall summon the Accession Council to meet within four weeks to choose a new Regent or otherwise provide for the powers and duties of the Regent; and until the Accession Council has decided the issue, the Steward shall discharge the powers and duties of the office as Deputy Regent.

Section Three. Whenever, during the incapacity of the Lord Great Steward, the Regent dies during his term of office or the Regent's term of office expires or a two-thirds majority of the Privy Council determines that the Regent is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Lord President shall summon the Accession Council to meet within four weeks to choose a new Regent or otherwise provide for the execution of the powers of the Regent and of the Steward's Surrogate. Whenever, during the incapacity of the Lord Great Steward, the Regent transmits to the Lord President his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office and that of the Lord Great Steward, the Lord President shall summon the Accession Council as hereinbefore provided. And whenever either of the circumstances detailed in this Section Three or any other circumstance results in the simultaneous incapacity of the Regent and the Lord Great Steward, their powers and duties shall be discharged as provided in Article Fifteen of this Act.
